We can do hard things!

This summer Amber went on girls camp where they walked many kilometres from their campground to the Cardston temple. The idea was to teach the girls that they could do hard things. Obviously the temple was the main focus of the camp and to get themselves there. Our ward had many young women's activities going on long walks to get the girls conditioned and ready to hike at camp. I was able to go to one of these activities with Amber. It just so happened that it poured rain by the end, but it was a really wonderful experience for me. Here's why. I assumed, incorrectly, that Amber would want to walk with her friends and so I started out walking with the leaders. After a while, Amber came to me and said something along the lines of "Why aren't you walking with me? Didn't you come to spend time with me?" I was very surprised, and very happy. It touched my heart. I was so grateful that my sister loves me and wants to spend time with me. I am so very blessed to have a wonderful, beautiful, fun, intelligent, goofy sister, who loves me too!
